Must be a graduate of an approved school of HIM and/or equivalent. Three-five years previous hospital experience in HIM REQUIRED. Must be RHIT, RHIA, or CCS. Must be comfortable making presentations to large groups.
Performs a random sampling of all coding ensuring accuracy and compliance. Prepares summary of findings and provides recommendations. Analyzes and provides detailed report of case-mix index. Provides coding eduation to Coding Specialists and works closely with the Medical Director of Care Management. Maintains and upgrades the Horizon Patient Folder system. Serves as the Project Manager for the ICD-10 Steering Committee. Resolves duplicate account number issues.
