Based in Chicago, Illinois, you will supervise and coach direct reports and coordinate the planning and implementation of the Chicago rail vehicle site modifications. You will also be responsible to resolve any open technical issues found on the vehicles, by actively responding to the Customer and ensuring warranty spares are available and any technical help or supplier involvement is arranged.
In your role you will:
Represent Product Introduction within the organization, to the Customer and suppliers, on all material and warranty issues. You will process all parts requests and ensure modification parts are available as the activities are planned. You will also resolve issues with suppliers and Plattsburgh procurement, and suppliers;
Provide daily modification activity planning with the Product Introduction Chicago organization and the local customer representatives to ensure vehicles are available for the program;
Ensure staff compliance to establish that safety programs are met. You will also conduct daily safety briefings and personally make sure all staff maintains safe work habits, using proper personal protection and the correct tools;
Supervise, evaluate and train staff in achievement of objectives by directing day to day activities related to materials management and warranty administration including tracking of materials and proper record keeping related to modifications and warranty issues.
As our ideal candidate:
- You hold a Technical Diploma in Engineering or related field;
- You possess three to five (3-5) years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing, maintenance or field service environment;
- You possess an Electro-Mechanical background from a relevant industry;
- Your knowledge of tooling and welding will be considered as assets;
- Your English communication skills are excellent.
