Overall purpose Responsible for support and maintenance of dunnhumby’s Linux and Storage Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • 2 nd /3 rd line support and administration of dunnhumby’s Linux, Storage and Backup technologies, adhering to dunnhumby’s Global Service Management processes, SLAs and Global Information Security Policy
  • Providing excellent Customer Service to dunnhumby’s internal customers and external partners through our ticketing system and otherwise.
  • Management of system maintenance including patching and version control
  • Proactively monitor the IT environment, looking for potential issues and initiating mitigating actions as appropriate
  • Participating in projects for integration of new applications into the dunnhumby technology stack
  • Ensuring consistency across territories in key technologies
  • Participation in the ITIL based Change Control Process

Dimensions Will work across dunnhumby’s Headquarters and Regional offices to provide world-class customer service to all users of dunnhumby’s Linux, Storage and Backup systems, comprising:

  • Cisco SAN
  • EMC Isilon
  • EMC Data Domain
  • HP EVA
  • HP Data Protector
  • HP Polyserve
  • HP BladeCenter and Blades
  • Quantum Stornext
  • Oracle ZFS
  • Violin Memory Systems
  • Other technologies as required

  • Expert in HP’s Data Protector or other enterprise backup software

Experience with HP Polyserve

Experience with Quantum Stornext

Experience with EMC Data Domain
Experience of ITIL based best practices
Linux scripting experience


  • A minimum of 5 years commercial IT technical support experience working successfully in a large scale and complex service management environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of support systems and processes coupled with strong analytical skills
  • Previous experience in providing excellent customer service to customers at a variety of levels
