EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) National Center for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) is seeking an internationally recognized scientific leader to fill its Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) Division Director position. The IRIS Division Director will have substantial hands-on involvement and participation in the scientific assessments and research of the staff; leads the development and oversight of an innovative, integrated chemical hazard assessment program that will incorporate a variety of disciplines including, toxicology, cancer biology, developmental biology, reproductive biology, endocrinology and neuroscience; defines goals, develops program plans, establishes overall operating policies, priorities and procedures, initiates short and long-term projects, and recommends changes in program goals and policies to the National Center, to the National Program Director for Human Health Risk Assessment, and to ORD executive leadership; formulates and guides efforts directed toward broad-scale resolution of scientific problems in frontier areas that are of critical importance and major national concern in the area of environmental pollution and related risk assessment issues; serves as ORD†s principal spokesperson for the IRIS program and principal spokesperson in the area of evaluating the effects that may result from exposure to chemical substances in the environment.Applications should be sent via email to title42@epa.gov.
