CONSERVATION EDUCATION INTERNSHIP: the Wilds
8 weeks in length (June 8th – August 10th, 2013)
Requirements – Must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in college, have a valid driver’s license, be willing to undergo a federal and state background check, be willing to work and live with children onsite in a variety of outdoor environments, and have a friendly and outgoing personality.
Focus – Making positive connections between camp participants and the natural world; assisting in the day to day operation of the Wilds’ residential camp, working on and completing an assigned intern project while at the Wilds, and incorporating reverence, respect and responsibility in all that you do.
Perks – Free housing at our Conservation Education Yurt Camp, free meals while camp is in session, two days per week off, a 4 hour break each day, week of Independence Day off, free admission to the Wilds and the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, employee discount at the Wilds gift shop and concession stands, 2 free staff t-shirts.
Please note - Conservation Education Interns do not receive monetary compensation; however the position is ideal for those interested in a career in education, interpretation, or natural sciences. Opportunities for school credit are available.
