Outdoor Pool Location: Champions Run Country Club

Hours: Vary from 10am–7pm

Dates: Memorial Day – Labor Day

Responsibilities:

- Greets all members/customers with a smile in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
-Answers customer questions; routes inquires as necessary and appropriate. Promptly responds to member request.
-Must build relationships among people and pro-actively gain and retain members.
-Responds quickly, efficiently, and professionally to any emergency situation, completes necessary paperwork and notifies the appropriate professional staff member.
-Provides exceptional customer service at all times.
-Conducts swim breaks on an hourly basis as designated by Aquatic Director.
-Consistent and vigilant monitoring of the pool required; anticipates possible hazardous situations and acts accordingly to prevent future occurrences.
-Assists with the general maintenance/upkeep of the aquatic facility.
-Enforces all pool rules and regulations promptly and professionally; notifies the appropriate professional on duty staff member of inappropriate behavior of facility users.
-Complies with all items contained in the YMCA’s Lifeguard Policies and Procedures Manual.
-Makes appropriate arrangements for a qualified substitute if unable to attend work.
-All other duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications:

-Individual must possess the experience and educational background suitable for the position, and be at least 16 years of age for swim instructor positions and 18 years of age for lifeguard positions.
-High School Diploma or GED highly desirable.
-Previous customer service experience highly desirable.
-Red Cross, YMCA or National Health and Safety Council Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications highly desireable.
-Individual must possess maturity, sound judgment, and possess the ability to resolve conflicts in a professional and tactful manner.
-Must possess management and organization al skills with the ability to multi-task and learn quickly.
-On-site attendance is required of this position.
