Candidate needs to have experience and a strong working knowledge with the following EMC hardware: Symmetrix (DMX3), Clarrion and Celerra and a understanding of EMC Centera.
Candidate needs to have experience and a strong working knowledge with the following EMC software and interfaces: Solutions Enabler, PowerPath, SymCLI, Control Center and / or ProSphere, UniSphere and / or NaviSphere. Knowledge of Centera management tools would also be beneficial (CenteraCLI, Centera Viewer, JCenteraVerify). Candidate needs a strong working knowledge of replication technologies and methods both from a SAN perspective and OS / Database tools and technologies.
Should be familiar with Thin provisioning, auto-provisioning, over-subscription methodologies and hot/cold data management. Also, needs to have working experience with Cisco director class fiber switches with an understanding of switch and port configuration settings.
Knowledge of various vendor’s HBAs along with the management tools to configure and monitor the devices would be beneficial.
Any knowledge in the areas of VMWare with Blade servers and AIX Unix with the use of LPARs as it relates to fabric zoning and storage mapping / masking would be helpful.
As a key member of the Information Technology group, the primary responsibility will be to help manage our organizations distributed data storage systems utilizing expertise in the various aspects of implementation, monitoring, and management of an Enterprise EMC Storage and Symantec Veritas Backup environment. This will include the coordination and completion of on-going and future projects and providing Subject Matter Expertise to fellow team members and leaders. Individual must be flexible and able to work extended or off-shift hours as needed to meet deadlines and accomplish goals. Work is very complex, analytical, and problem solving in nature. The quality of work must be very high, as an error could have a direct negative impact on patient care, fiscal or administrative decision-making. Work is performed unsupervised and is reviewed by the Manager of Platform Services through observation and discussion.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Certification as EMC Certified Professional Associate
Health Care industry experience preferred.
Experience in storage architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices
3-5 years technical experience with building, installing, configuring, and supporting storage servers and management software
Understanding of Microsoft and UNIX-based Operating Systems
3-5 years AIX/Linux administration is desirable.
Hands-on (Fibre Channel, and SCSI) as well as SAN/NAS/DAS troubleshooting experience
Experience with tape/disk drives and library, Virtual Tape (VTL) back-up and restore technologies
Knowledge of applicable data retention practices and laws
Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
3-5 year experience with storage provisioning, LUN management, zoning, performance management and volume management, multi-vendor failover software; HBA configuration in Windows and UNIX environments.
Possess good working knowledge of Cisco SAN Directors.
Demonstrated production support experience with mission critical applications.
Strong verbal/written communication skills.
3 years experience with Veritas Cluster Server, Data Replication, is a plus.
Must possess disciplined and strong analytical problem solving skills.
Able to participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation.
Able to work flexible hours as required by assigned projects or system problems.
Must be dedicated to excellent customer service and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
