Under the Chief Information Officer’s direction, utilizes high-level & complex computer analysis techniques to perform project management functions (i.e., on behalf of appointing authority) to manage multiple &/or sensitive projects: serves as the agency Information Security Coordinator as required by Ohio Administrative Code 3301-2-03; serves as agency information security point of contact as required by Information Technology Policy ITP-B-1; coordinates development and maintenance of the Agency Information Technology Security Management Program; plans, develops, implements and administers information security systems through the use of controls, procedures, measurements and strategies to prevent unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, misuse, manipulation or destruction of systems, networks, applications and data; develops and implements policies and procedures designed to ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of the agency's information assets; oversees the design and direction for enterprise wide security technology and works with the Information Security Steering Committee to resolve complex information security issues; develops and coordinates the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) including the development of procedures for the response to, and the remediation of, security incidents; assists in the development of disaster recovery and contingency plans and supports integrated security systems and solutions.
Coordinates responses to internal and State auditors as it relates to information technology and information systems; manages and ensures compliance with Ohio Administrative Code 3301-2; identifies trends in Information Security technology and proposes modifications to ensure agency is on the forefront of changes with appropriate policies, standards, monitoring, certification and risk assessments.
Establishes & maintains effective working relationships with users; provides technical advice to users regarding cost, feasibility &/or time for completion of projects; identifies deficiencies with information systems & recommends/implements design changes as appropriate; resolves problems, coordinates activities with other agency offices and/or sections; attends management-level & other meetings; provides technical consultation to higher-level management personnel; participates in investigations of suspected information security misuse or in compliance reviews as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., attends training classes &/or seminars).
Completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science, or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language (for example, COBOL, Delphi, Java, Powerbuilder, Visual Basic, Pl 1, SAS PCS, Pacbase, Full Visual Suite, Designer 2000, Developer 2000, C, C++, Visual C, ECL, or Visual Studio), logic-based mathematics, data base concepts (for example, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Paradox, Sybase, IMS DB, DB2, Cache, DMS, or RDMS), computer systems analysis & design, & basic data processing concepts; additional 7 1/2 years (90 mos.) exp. commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting.; 2 years exp. in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose.

Preferred certification in one or more of the following: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
Unusual Working Conditions: Requires travel throughout State of Ohio & may require overnight stay. (Must be willing & able to secure a valid Driver’s License OR supply your own transportation).
