The Assistant Director, Rehabilitation Services is responsible for overseeing and managing daily outpatient therapy services.
Responsibilities include assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating daily operations as well as the supervision and evaluation of therapy personnel.
The Assistant Director assures adherence to Sibley Memorial Hospital policies and procedures while fostering the hospital’s mission and vision.
In conjunction with the Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for the overall quality of outpatient therapy services provided to patients and the processes that leads to continuous performance improvement.
The Assistant Director’s responsibilities also include new program planning and implementation, staff development, and leadership.
In the absence of the Director, the Assistant Director assumes the duties of the Director.
The Assistant Director works with the Director, hospital administration, medical staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure that lines of communication are open and processes for problem resolution are in place.
A postgraduate degree in Rehabilitation or Physical/Occupational Therapy.
Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist License from the District of Columbia is preferred.
At least two years of previous managerial experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
