Linux Kernel SW Engineer
Job Description: Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.
Your responsibilities may include:
Develop and evaluate areas of the Linux Kernel and Linux Operating System to provide power and performance optimizations
Enable new hardware, technology and features
Troubleshoot code and contribute code back to the Linux Open Source Community.
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of relelvant experience.
* 2-5+ years' experience in C
* 2-5+ years' experience with kernel-level code development
1+ years' experience with standard software engineering practices for version control, configuration management, testing, root cause analysis, and quality assurance
* Extensive knowledge of Intel architecture
* Linux Kernel open source development experience, proven development experience with LKML, presenter at key Linux conferences (e.g., Plumber's)
* A passion for writing high-quality, well-architected and well-documented code.
* Experience developing successful products, from inception to delivery.
* Good communication skills.
