Mathematics Instructor
Westchester Community College - Valhalla, NY
Seeking a motivated candidate with strong mathematical and educational credentials, a working knowledge of the use of technology in teaching, and the ability to teach courses ranging from developmental to advanced levels including liberal arts math courses. Responsibilities also include the following:
  • Teach 15 hours a week.
  • Hold a minimum of 5 office hours per week.
  • Assist in the development of curricula.
  • Serve on department and college-wide committees.
  • Participate in professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master degree in Mathematics or a closely related field and a minimum of one year college teaching experience (three years preferred) are required. The successful candidate must possess a minimum of 12 graduate credits in mathematics or statistics. The ability to teach all courses ranging from developmental to advanced, including liberal arts mathematics courses is required. Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population and familiarity with the integration of technology into mathematics education is also required. Familiarity with teaching in a non-traditional environment (particularly online) is preferred.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2013

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $57,415, plus excellent benefits. ( Hiring is subject to the availability of funds) .
