Position Summary Develops policy and leads human resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high- performance culture that reflects the organizations values. Oversees all human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training and employee services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Directs overall human resources functions, including but not limited to recruiting and staffing; performance management and improvement systems; organizational development; employment and compliance to regulatory concerns; employment orientation, development and training; policy development and documentation; employee relations; compensation and benefits administration; and employee safety. Oversees the implementation of services, policies and programs and serves on the executive management team to assist and advise Executive Leadership regarding human resource issues.Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.Reviews and assesses future employment needs of the organization.Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation and employee benefits.Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.Oversees the analysis, maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies or other departments in the organization.Studies legislation, arbitration decisions and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.Writes and delivers presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises three employees in the Human Resources department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations SPHR or PHR designation desirable, but not required. Other Qualifications At least 5 years of Human Resources experience required, showing consistent and progressive responsibility and experience managing others.
