This role delivers medical treatment utilizing ventilation strategies and therapy modalities. This role assesses patient respiratory functioning, delivers appropriate treatment, and educates patient, family and medical staff on treatment and disease issues. This position utilizes critical thinking skills to evaluate appropriateness of therapy through protocol use. This position performs its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the St. Vincent mission and core values.
Graduates of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Will accept new graduates.
Registered status with the Nation Board of Respiratory Care (RRT) prior start date.
Must have valid Indiana license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner prior to start date.
Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be
able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
1 year RCP experience within an acute care setting preferred.
