Overview Software Developer Support provides expertise to design, build, document, and maintain a variety of software and web applications affecting the Navy Medicine enterprise. These include, but are not limited to the Activity Manpower Document (AMD), the Activity Manpower Personnel Processing System (AMPSS), Defense Medical Human Resources-internet (DMHRSi), Total Force Manpower Management System (TFMMS) Micro Management Change Application (TMMCA), Total Force Manpower Management System (TFMMS), and other manpower-related web applications.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, design/development/maintenance of new applications, integration of SharePoint and Microsoft applications to include integration with Navy Medicine Intranet/SharePoint sites, converting existing applications from Active Server Pages (ASP) to .NET framework (as required), gathering requirements from staff, and recommending purchase of any additional applications to meet requirements. Provide technical web services in support of the Navy Medicine and provide Web application software development, maintenance, webmaster functions and intra/internet server support, perform the following:
4 years experience developing and maintaining sites in the SharePoint environment 5 years database-driven web application development and system administration experience Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with non-technical people Strong problem solving and analytical skills, demonstrated attention to detail and ability to convert abstract processes into system requirements COMPTIA Security+ certified Basic Knowledge of XML, XML Schema, MSSQL Server, IIS, and Web Services SharePoint Portal 2003 / WSS 2.0 Experience SharePoint Server MOSS 2007 / WSS 3.0 experience SharePoint Developer experience SQL Server 2005 Experience Strong Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, Networking, Security Principles Knowledge of Web Services and the .NET Framework Ability to work with Senior Executive Staff Thorough knowledge of application, software installation and maintenance. Experience in data base design/information system network design and implementation Experience with help desk support Knowledge of development and maintenance of Life Cycle Management Experience in support and maintenance of IAVAs (Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts) Familiarity for design of Structured Query Language (SQL) queries for both Oracle and Microsoft SQL (Structured Query Language) based systems Experience in enterprise video conferencing with AMX, Xtron, Tandberg and/or Polycom preferred Windows XP or Windows 7 MCP knowledge MS Office Suite knowledge Adobe Acrobat knowledge Windows 7and Windows XP and upgrades knowledge HBSS, Group Policy, Shavlik, Retina, SMS knowledge
