Role Definition

We are looking for an experienced Director of Education and Partner Management to lead the worldwide education efforts for Parallels’ panel, virtualization and automation products to the hosting and cloud services provider audience as well as lead and develop the Systems Integrator (SI) Partner efforts. This key position will own the creation and development of Parallels’ customer, partner, and internal education curriculum and training operations as well as developing SI Partner strategy, relationships, and operations. He/She will lead and execute key education, delivery partnerships, and certification to support the Service Provider business.

This opportunity provides the qualified candidate an opportunity to build the Training and Education business development activities including the following areas:

General Software Education for Customers (e.g. administration, use, operations)

Service Provider ‘Business’ Education for Customers (e.g. ‘How to be successful as a ‘Hoster’)

Technical Software - Deployment, and Configuration (for SI Partners, Customers, and internal staff)

The candidate will be building the training capacity of:
Internal Trainers

Partner Trainers

The ideal candidate’s standard measurements will focus on brand development, certification, actual revenue, profitability, and growth percentage within the business practice. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for improving the success of our Service Providers in building a successful business through the right application of ‘Business’ courses designed to educate on ‘Best Practices’.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, results-driven director, where leadership skills and global education and partner relationships are critical success factors. Previous experience in building of education organizations is required. The individual must be someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive deep into the issues to understand key competitive challenges, a proven ability to work across virtual teams and motivate others.

Responsibilities - Education:
Increase the success of our customers through education

Increase and improve the general software education portfolio for customers (e.g. administration, use, operations)

Develop and improve the Service Provider ‘Business’ education portfolio for customers (e.g. ‘How to be successful as a ‘Hoster’)

Develop and improve the technical deployment and configuration portfolio for SI Partners, customers, and internal staff

Grow the revenue stream for training and education

Responsible for weekly education revenue and capacity forecasting

Work with Marketing and Sales to increase the attach rate of training offerings to our customers

Improve and refine the sales process for the education portfolios using knowledge from your experience

Develop, maintain, and improve business relations with all training customers

Monitor and analyze sales and marketing trends for our education offerings

Develop and improve the internal delivery capacity of our training department including developing training resources in the regions

Responsibilities - Partners:
Develop and improve the partner delivery capacity of our training department including developing training partners in the regions

Develop and improve the partner channel for delivery and configuration of our solution platforms including:

Developing standardized technical education for our delivery SI partners

Developing an ‘internship’ model for our SI partners to bridge class / book based knowledge with real-world experience and make them “delivery ready”

Develop a delivery certification model that matches our internal staffing proficiency tiers to facilitate ease of staffing deliveries with internal or SI resources

Develop a technical support model to support our delivery SI resources in the field

Work with our PMO and Services Engineering teams to validate SI resources prior to using them as billable resources on engagements

Develop partner specific business plans by looking at opportunities to grow the business beyond implementation services, particularly in the areas of advanced and professional services.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree
  • 10+ years of experience in the software industry including training, education, and certification
  • proven success record in building of successful organizations
  • Ability to develop profitable sales structure for training and education
  • Ability to drive development of high-quality training and certification materials
  • Must have developed and successfully taken new education and certification offerings to market, and can exhibit growth at a previous company
  • 5+ years experience in partner management with a strong channel background, experience in building and managing a partner channel
  • Solid history of incubating and developing profitable partner relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to accuracy and quality of work
  • Successfully managed global cross functional teams
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
