Performs setup, culturing, processing, staining, and karyotyping of specimens in the Cytogentics laboratory. Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment. Critically evaluates results and quality control results. Corrects basic procedural and/or instrument problems. Responsible for teaching and training.


Bachelors Degree from an accredited cytogenetics education program or Bachelors Degree in an appropriate science field and Cytogenetics or Medical Technologist certification.

Certification: Specialty certification in Cytogenetics by an appropriate laboratory agency within six months of eligibility to sit for the exam is required.
