Responsible for the planning and administration of departmental functions including vendor contracting; room selection processes, assignments, and occupancy; and hall opening and closing processes. Responsible for oversight and second level appeals related to contract exemptions and related correspondence; managing bond stipulated percentages of residents between University and Privatized housing; managing summer housing; and coordinating the drug and alcohol education program for resident students. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree; five years of professional level experience performing housing responsibilities in residence halls; and the completion of a successful interview which may require a demonstration of knowledge and skills. Additional qualifications: Experience in university housing administration/operation and familiarity with applicable state, federal, and local law and policy. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience with supervising the work of employees; strong organizational skills; and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, spreadsheets, and databases. Must demonstrate, through past accomplishments and behaviors, the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission. Preferred: Master’s degree in Student Personnel or related field; knowledge of student development theory; crisis intervention or emergency response training; and knowledge of Adirondack, Datatel, and TracDat databases.
