Novellus Systems (recently merged with Lam Research) designs, builds and services manufacturing equipment that is used in the production of semiconductor devices on a global level. We’re growing and looking for a senior level Software Engineer to work in our manufacturing facilities in Portland, Oregon. Relocation assistance is available.

We are seeking a hands-on software engineer to work around device control issues on capital equipment for the semiconductor industry. You will plan, design, develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.

Use your skills as a seasoned, experienced professional resolving a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. You will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. You will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and interact with senior internal and external personnel.

To qualify you will need a minimum of 5 years of related experience. You will need to be proficient in writing C and C++ code. Any experience with Java is a + but not required. Ideal profile is experience working on device control issues. Any experience in Ethernet devices, socket communication, TCP/IP, RS232, bus protocol, QNX (RTOS) applications is a plus but not required. Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master's is a plus.
