The new Sanders Brown Embryo transfer, Cryopreservation and Rederivation Facility requires a working supervisor with unique responsibilities and capabilities. The individual must be able to interact with the research community (faculty and staff) to schedule mouse strain rederivation and/or cryopreservation as needed and to keep the research personnel updated on colony rederivation and expansion. This position will be a working supervisor position demanding knowledge of rodent reproductive techniques, rodent embryo transfer, embryo cryopreservation techniques, and rodent breeding protocols. Due to the stringent requirements for entering and maintaining this as a barrier facility and to ensure that proper barrier techniques are maintained, there is a requirement for an onsite supervisor with both the technical skills and scientific knowledge to accomplish the mission, the ability to work independently, and the supervisory skills to manage other staff working in the facility.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Knowledge of rodent reproductive techniques, rodent embryo transfer, embryo cryopreservation techniques, and rodent breeding protocols.
Preferred Education / Experience
Ky. licensed veterinarian technician, A.S. Degree and 3 - 4 years paid experience in a laboratory animal facility.
