DESCRIPTION

Looking for an exciting new career? Join our team! The Geneva Foundation is a non-profit organization which promotes and supports military medicine. The Foundation has built relationships with highly skilled, exceptionally motivated, world-recognized researchers and medical professionals and hires top-quality staff. By joining The Geneva Foundation, you will have an exciting and stimulating career in which you will advance, "The Future of Military Medicine. Today."

A postdoctoral position in induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) biology, label-free cell sorting, and microfluidics is available. The incumbent will lead the characterization of a novel label-free microfluidic cell sorting platform. We seek motivated scientists who have previous experience handling iPSC lines, differentiating iPSCs along specific lineages, characterizing differentiated cells, as well as extensive experience with multi-color flow cytometry.

This two-year effort will include deriving iPSCs; differentiating iPSCs along ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm lineages; characterizing differentiated cells using established methods for each lineage; and characterizing a microfluidic label-free cell sorting platform for suitability to distinguish between cells at different points along lineage commitment pathways. Experience in troubleshooting microfluidic or cell sorting devices is strongly recommended but not required. The position will require collaboration with an industry partner and some travel (3 times per year).

The laboratory is collocated with the Cancer and Developmental Biology Laboratory at the National Cancer Institute and will be interactive with its principal investigators.

Experience Required: A Ph.D. in bioengineering, biology, biochemistry, medicine or related fields with lab or industry experience in iPSC biology; FACS / flow cytometry, and characterization of iPSC-derived differentiated cells

Experience Strongly Recommended: Troubleshooting microfluidics or flow cytometry devices.
Clinicians with relevant research experience are also encouraged to apply.
