Position Summary:
Administers, scores, and interprets intelligence, aptitude, achievement, and other psychological tests to provide test information to teachers, counselors, students, or other specified entitled party: Gives paper and pencil tests or utilizes testing equipment, such as picture tests and dexterity boards, under standard conditions. Times, tests, and records results. Interprets test results in light of standard norms, and limitations of test in terms of validity and reliability. The psychometrist may also be responsible for collecting demographic information from a patient. In addition, this person may also be responsible for various clerical or administrative duties that include but are not limited to: patient scheduling, billing and coding of procedures, and procurement of office and testing supplies.

Job-related Responsibilities:
Administers and scores neuropsychological/psychological tests as defined in competencies for a Psychometrist.
Scores tests administered, including objective personality tests administered by Psychologist.
Provides a written summary of the patient’s behavior during testing, including any interactions with the patient’s parents or peers that may be observed incidentally.
Writes progress notes (as indicated) in the medical record to keep medical personnel informed of the status of referrals.
Attends training conferences offered by the department as well as by outside organizations.
Reviews and ensures timeliness, accuracy, and availability and security of information.
Complies with Infection Control and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Understands, adheres to and models Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department/unit.
Ensures that inpatients referred for testing are seen in a timely manner.
Assists with research and special projects.
Acclimates new neuropsychology fellows, residents and research assistants to the Psychometrist position and the collaborative relationship.
Provides data for Psychologists which will contribute to the assessment of a patient’s needs, the organization’s capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care.
Assumes responsibility for ensuring uniformity of test administration and data collection.
Attends and participates in weekly meetings under the direction of the neuropsychologist regarding the status of projects/assessments and troubleshoot any difficulties that arise.
Assumes responsibility for ensuring uniformity of test administration and data collection.
Assumes responsibility for data entry of the neuropsychological tests and outcome data.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:
§ Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or other related areas of study that emphasize knowledge of psychometrics and test administration, with at least one year toward a Master’s

§ Training/experience in administration and scoring of psychological and neurological tests and observation/reporting of test behavior

§ Minimum one (1) year experience

§ Experience in working with patients with neurologic impairment, behavioral dysregulation, and physical limitations/disabilities
