PACS ADMINISTRATOR FULL-TIME
Has primary responsibility for implementation, daily operation, management, monitoring and training for all Radiology Department information systems, including PACS system(s), RIS systems, and teleradiography systems.
with IS staffand
vendors’ service and support to maintain proper functionality of all department networks, interfaces, modems, servers, hardware and software as needed to support function and integration of Radiology department services.
Has primary responsibility for daily system monitoring and backups, software updates, staff training, system trouble shooting and all operations within the scope of the facility.
Participates in after hours call and rotates coverage.
Must be either a graduate of an approved (two year) technical program with appropriate registry, (A.R.R.T., ARDMS, NMTCB) and licensure or two years IT technical training or equivalent.
B.S. Computer Science with MCSE certification preferred.
Graduates of Radiologic Technology program must have two years experience in the appropriate field, with at least one-year experience in information systems as a PACS Administrator, Network analyst, or RIS/PACS analyst/super-user.
Individuals from an IT background must have at least two years experience in information systems, preferably in the healthcare setting.
Extensive knowledge of radiology systems is required, with experience in PACS or RIS preferred.
Knowledge of information systems, including DICOM conformation, Unix, Windows, Microsoft NT/2000 server, TCP/IP protocols, LAN and WAN required.
