Business Development Manager: Consumer

Responsibilities

The media, entertainment and publishing sector defines, amplifies and maintains a keen sense of the consumer and the highly competitive consumer software industry. Key responsibilities for this role include:

Drive Microsoft platform/eco-system adoption among large consumer centric organizations

Foster strategic go-to market strategies with the industry’s largest media and entertainment organizations

Own overall consumer partner satisfaction with Microsoft eco-system and Microsoft technologies

Work with consumer industry leaders and serve as strategic advisors to their consumer programs

Engage senior business and technical decision makers at consumer organizations, articulate the business and technical value of Microsoft platforms and tools, develop large scale consumer-specific value propositions, and identify creative business opportunities for those organizations

Act as a trusted advisor between consumer organizations and Microsoft as it relates to emerging platform technologies

Identify and cultivate productive relationships with consumer ecosystem influencers, including c-level technical and business executives when appropriate, and create high quality evidence to further drive excitement and reach in the consumer ecosystem

Work with Microsoft Marketing and Product teams to execute growth and adoption strategies with consumer organizations nationwide

Present and discuss the business and technical value of the Microsoft platform, our tools and our public roadmap at industry events

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring:
BA/BS required in Computer Science or some other technical degree; MBA preferred

7 to 10 years’ experience working for or with a large consumer media, publishing or entertainment organization

Have deep technical expertise and business acumen to deliver value to consumer focused organizations that monetize on revenue and/or reach.

Exceptional communication speaking skills with demonstrated experience presenting to C-level individuals/executives

Experience creating and or curating large scale consumer reach applications on mobile/tablet eco-system is highly desirable

Effective leadership and project management skills working on multiple projects and initiatives against tight timelines

Strong team player with exceptional cross group collaboration skills in relationship building, issue resolution and communication.

The candidate must have exemplary communication skills be highly organized, attentive to details, and ability to distill very complex problems into success stories with little supervision

Travel required between Washington DC, Philadelphia and NYC and position is located in the Northeast (Washington D.C/NYC)
