GSS provides time-zone optimized coverage throughout five support centers globally. The GSS team supports the entire suite of VMware products for global customers and partners and participates in developing new products and new versions of current products. o Respond to customer inquiries, primarily via email and telephone
o Resolve any customer technical issues through diligent research, reproduction, and troubleshooting
o Work directly with staff in quality assurance, engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and administration to resolve problems
o Document all technical inquiries; develop and review content for knowledgebase
o Provide training or assistance to junior staff
o Participate in testing alpha and beta products

Requirements :
o Experience in providing Unix/Linux technical support to enterprise customers or software customers
o Excellent interpersonal skills
o Fluent in spoken and written English
o Strong Linux or UNIX administration skills
o Familiarity with the installation and configuration of Linux or UNIX operating systems
o Setup and operation of TCP/IP networking on Linux or UNIX systems
o Good practical working ability with UNIX utilities, including editors and command shells
o B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or equivalent work experience
o Working knowledge of Linux and Microsoft platforms, plus x86 platforms, devices, and networking

Highly Preferred Skills
o Hands on experience with VMware ESX Server or VMware products
o Linux administration on Redhat, SUSE , Debian
o UNIX kernel diagnostics/debugging (at a level typically found in senior level 2 or level 3 UNIX support staff)
o Ability to program and debug bash, perl and python scripts
o Familiarity with VMware VSM-CP, vCO and vCD
o Familiarity with database environments , such as Oracle, SQL, and PostgreSQL
o Familiarity with SDK and API technology and application
o Familiarly of Clustering Technologies such as MS Cluster Server, Redhat clustering, Oracle RAC
o Technical Certifications (MCSE, CCNA, VCP, Linux Certifications etc.) Location Broomfield, CO, US
