Operate and maintain the plant while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
Manage and provide leadership to 10 or more plant technicians.
Assigns job tasks to workers according to customer needs, current stock levels and worker’s expertise.
Ensures all safety regulations are strictly observed and corrects any unsafe act or condition immediately. Also conducts regular safety meetings.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capabilities of machines and equipment.
Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product and changes working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
Resolves any and all employee complaints and provides coaching and corrective action.
Conducts periodic checks of plant to ensure a safe, orderly and efficient working environment.
Maintain time and production records as well as approve overtime only when necessary.
Ensures all injuries and accidents are properly investigated and reported within 24 hours.
Train new associates and cross train all associates to continue production during a personnel shortage.

Must have through knowledge of manometric and gravimetric gas blending procedures, and working knowledge of laws of partial pressure.
Must have some experience operating a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
Needs to have through understanding of CFR 49, parts 100 to 177 and have the ability to apply these regulations to the specialty gases produced.
Must be able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have at least 2 years supervisory experience, motivating and leading first level supervisor and other employees, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must have good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other similar software.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Preferably forklift certified.
