Nursing Support (CNA, MA, NURSE AIDE)
Surgical Technologist at Swedish/Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
The Surgical Technologist participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team and performs indirect perioperative tasks for patients who are having surgical and surgical endoscopy procedures
In this position you will:
Select and prepare supplies and equipment for surgical procedures. Assist in preparing Operating Room for surgical procedures, ensuring sterile environment at all times
Set up sterile field with instruments, sutures, blades, electrosurgical equipment, suction, prosthesis and solutions needed for procedures according to established procedures
Count sponges, needles, sharps, instruments, and other items with circulator prior to procedure and before incision is closed. Maintain an accurate account of the amount of irrigation used during a procedures.
Perform scrub services
Prepare instruments for cleaning and terminal sterilization. Assist circulator with proper disposition of reusable and disposable items at the end of a case.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from a surgical technology program or a combination of education and directly related work experience
Prior experience as surgical technologist in an acute care facility
Valid Surgical Technologist Registration with the State of Washington
Current BLS certification
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Surgery Technologist certification
