-Supervise plant operators working a 24hr/day weekend (Sat/Sun) shift. Supervisor working hours will typically be 12 hr/day on weekends in addition to two weekdays (8 hr/day).
-Ensure operators are following standard operating procedures, system standards and safety procedures.
-Monitor work area operating conditions, process parameters, productivity, and quality.
-Responsible for accurate evaluation, interpretation and verification of data for product produced.
-Perform necessary tasks when needed to support shift during absences of personnel.
-Assign work tasks and communicate production expectations.
-Responsible for ensuring basic maintenance on equipment is carried out as needed.
-Implement the MEDAL division's operations training requirements.
-Define and assemble training needs with assistance from other group supervisors, engineering resources, the production manager and the training manager.
-Support the training program by design and/or preparation of training materials, development of courses/programs as needed including tests.
-Act as the lead trainer for sign-off of training requirements for operations employees.
-Support Facility Managers in documenting personnel training needs and ensuring training is delivered.
-Assess opportunities for improvement; set and achieve goals based on the MEDAL's performance.
-Track and report training progress.
-Ensure training records are maintained in accordance with regulatory and Air Liquide requirements.
-Anticipate future training needs, interface with Facility Manager's and plan accordingly to address those needs.
-Understand process and manufacturing concepts.
-Interpret process data in order to keep operations running at prescribed operating conditions.
-Ability to clearly and effectively communicate (written and oral) with operators and management staff.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment.
-Must possess excellent troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills with regard to manufacturing processes.
-Working knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement techniques.
-Must be able to support on-call emergencies.
-Must be able to lift medium loads.
-5+ years working in a chemical/manufacturing plant.
-Extensive process operations knowledge. Membrane manufacturing processes and core technologies experience desirable.
-Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and relational databases.
-Ability to plan, organize, direct and control multiple tasks.
-Experience training and supervising process operators preferred.
-B.S. degree in science or manufacturing desirable.
