Job Summary

The Clinical Sales Consultant supports the System Sales Consultants in increasing penetration and profitability in existing accounts as well as increasing market share by applying bedside clinical experience to product demonstrations, clinical simulations and committee presentations, build clinical relationships to promote customer satisfaction and mobilize key opinion leaders and utilize clinical expertise to exploit pain points and drive opportunities. The main focus is on account penetration, revenue growth, customer satisfaction and market growth. This position is involved in the sale of our clinically differentiated infusion solution to include product, safety software, technology integration and data analytics. The buying process involves strong clinical staff and executive sponsorship.

Accountabilities

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and understanding of products, services and regulatory recommendations/requirements and impact to front line clinician and healthcare environment that may influence sales opportunities
  • Collaborates with sales to develop strategic clinical recommendations to influence customer decision to purchase new products and services; develop strategies and action plans to significantly influence clinical acceptance in multi-site and/or complex clinical environments
  • Creates or improves strategies to optimize product evaluation processes to enhance participation, outcomes and customer satisfaction and opportunity to drive the process enhancing influence and ability to build key champions and promote the sales process
  • Communicates pertinent voice of customer and observed healthcare trending information to support product and service development efforts
  • Proactively develops and maintains a broad knowledge base of the product offerings and related clinical application providing guidance on best practices, clinical processes and challenges
  • Demonstrates ability to present solutions rather than problems considering all angles through a comprehensive assessment and evaluation; maintains awareness of progress and redirects solution implementation if desired results were not originally met until optimal outcome is achieved
Job Family Summary

Clinical Sales is responsible for supporting the timely and quality sale of Alaris / CareFusion products and services; may also provide product and service education to facilitate technology adoption and workflow change management.

What is expected of you for success in your role

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of relevant infusion products and services
  • Influences customer decision to purchase new products and services
  • Leads the discovery for opportunities for new or expanded products and services
  • Develops, plans and manages on-patient evaluations as designed for multi-site and/or complex patient care environments
  • Serves as lead consultant and resource to internal and external customers
  • Mentors internal staff regarding best demonstrated practices and product applications
  • May support discussions to obtain in-depth customer feedback for product and service improvement opportunities
  • Nursing degree required; Bachelor or Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years ICU experience
  • Minimum 2 years medical device sales preferred
  • Require ability to travel a minimum 85% of time; occasional weekend coverage
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Presentation and demonstration of effective communication experience required
  • Excellent listening skills required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox) Annual TB/PPD (skin test), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis.
