Department of Social Work
NNU’s Department of Social Work offers both a B.A. in Social Work and an MSW degree. Both programs are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. There are approximately 200 students, eight full-time faculty members, and one full-time instructor. The B.A. Program focuses on Generalist SW Practice in rural settings and the MSW Program has four areas of emphasis, including Community Mental Health, Addictions Studies, Clinical Gerontology, and Social Service Administration.

Description of the Position
Northwest Nazarene University is seeking applicants for a teaching position in Clinical Social Work, with expertise in either the area of addictions or corrections and parole. Teaching assignments will also include some load in the core areas of HBSE and Field Instruction. Classes in the MSW Program are scheduled on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or Doctorate in Social Work or a very closely related field, an MSW degree, and an LCSW license. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of five years clinical social work experience in a rural or small town setting, and a minimum of two years teaching experience at the college/university level.

The University requires that all candidates have a Christian perspective (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and they must be comfortable and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle statements of NNU.

The salary will be determined based on the educational background and experience of the candidate.
