Job Summary: The Customer Service Supervisor has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising the activities of the Customer Service Representatives and Inventory Team on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the supervisor is responsible for communication between this department and the various departments within Kuehne + Nagel and its customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Ensure orders for material or merchandise received by mail, fax, e-mail, EDI or telephone from customer or company employee are processed.
•Compiles, sorts and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.
•Examines records such as bills, computer printouts, bills of lading, and related documents and correspondence
•Informs customer of unit prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays and any additional information needed by customer using mail, e-mail or telephone.
•Confers with warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
•Compiles statistics and prepares various reports for management.
•Investigates overdue and damaged shipments or shortages in shipments for customers &/or common carriers.
•Analyzes complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation, updating customers on a timely basis.
•Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
•Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
•Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
•Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.

•Must have three (3) years experience in a warehouse environment, 2 years’ experience in customer service and one (1) in a supervisory role
•Knowledge of Windows based order entry system.
•Experience with shipping, receiving and inventory control
•Successful communication - written and verbal
•Experience with materials handling equipment
•Ability to successfully communicate – both verbal and written
•Intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel
•AS400 experience or any WMS experience helpful
•Ability to follow through and provide excellent customer service
•Ability to efficiently solve problems
