Organization Profile Devereux New Jersey touches the lives of over 450 children, adolescents, adults, and their families with special needs, and are available in each geographical region of the state, from outside the New York skyline to the Southern New Jersey shoreline. The Direct Care Professional will oversee intellectually and developmentally disabled children & adults and partner with these individuals to:

As a Direct Care Professional YOU will add value by :
Assisting clients in daily living activities including health & hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, and recreation. Must be comfortable with diapering and bathing clients. Maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients while improving functioning and minimizing interfering behaviors. Providing client documentation to include shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes. Facilitating proper medical care including medication administration for clients. Salary:
Day and Evening positions start at $9.79 per hour and increase 2% for additional years of related experience or education beyond the minimum requirement. Overnight positions start at $8.32 per hour and increase 2% for additional years of related experience or education beyond the minimum requirement.

Job Requirements The accomplished individual will possess:
A High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of related experience OR an Associate's Degree with 1 year of related experience, A Valid non provisional NJ Driver's License, Flexibility, patience, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor, A strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs. Personal, volunteer, or professional experience working with the developmentally disabled, or experience as a CNA, Home Health Aide, or Personal Care Attendant The ability to complete a week long orientation period, CPR, First Aid, and 3 additional pre-service trainings if offered the position.
