Minimum Education and Experience:

Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

This position is being recruited for at the Journey Competency Level under this Career Banding program. The hiring range for this level is $59,568 - $61,568. The salary grade is equivalent to 77. ***************************************************************************************************** This position will be responsible for desktop support and client care within the College of Arts and Sciences, primarily supporting the Mathematics department and Physics & Astronomy department. Additionally, this position will provide cross-coverage in other departments, primarily in the physical sciences. It is essential that the candidate have a high level of knowledge and abilities with Windows and Mac operating systems. It is also essential that the candidate possess a very professional bearing, and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

This is a Client Services position in the College of Arts and Sciences. Strong communication and customer service skills are highly desired, as this position must be able to interact effectively with other team members, faculty, and staff within the college. Certifications and experience with Windows and Mac operating systems are strongly preferred. Experience with mathematical and statistical software is strongly preferred. Experience with Linux and other operating systems is a plus. As this is a fast paced environment, flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities is vital to success.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements:

Successful candidate must be able to move up to 75 lbs in the installation and maintenance of hardware.
