CGI seeks a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to work in an expanding and challenging integrated and distributed Linux environment. Must be comfortable working from the command line interface and be able to manage and create cron jobs, Iptables, firewall rules, syslog server settings, perform kernel and package updates. Must be familiar with security and hardening of the operating systems (OS) and network systems against intrusion. Specific Duties:
Design, implement and maintain highly functional scalable Intranet and Internet using a comprehensive Linux knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies.
Maintain multiple operational, test, and developmental networks.
Develop complex network solutions for development environment.
Provide technical expertise in the use of Information Technology (IT) Information Assurance (IA) tools to implement computer network security.
Provide expedient resolution to all network issues caused by integration of new network services or systems.
Manage network encryption devices deployed on a WAN.
Monitor network performance and recommend courses of action for responding to anomalous trends or events; help translate these into impact analysis to be presented to senior customer personnel.
Develop and maintain network documentation.
Identify and track network assets.
Coordinate all network hardware and software configuration changes within the Configuration Manager.
Other duties as required.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience and a minimum of three years of directly related work experience required. Additional Requirements:
Possession of an ACTIVE TOP SECRET DoD security clearance based on current SSBI and SCI eligibility notation on JPAS from a DOD Agency is required to begin employment; US Citizenship is required.
Five years Linux Systems Administration experience.
Intermediate programming/scripting experience in Bash or Perl.
Solid understanding of OS concepts and services.
In-dept knowledge of the function and operation of iptables firewall.
Experience with multiple OSs (Fedora Core, Red Hat Enterprise Ubuntu).
Intermediate knowledge of core Internet protocols, e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, DNS and SMTP.
Knowledge of network protocols used for secure communications.
Ability to produce network diagrams and drawings using Visio.
Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
Problem solving and analysis skills.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Drive to standardize, simplify and automate processes and configurations.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
Red Hat Linux certifications
Web server administration (Apache, Tomcat, etc.)
HTML, SSH setup and PGP
LDAP and other directory services, Samba, etc.
Windows experience a big plus (Server 2000, 2003, XP)
