TBDN TENNESSEE COMPANY JOB TITLE: PC Specialist A REPORTS TO: Materials manager PRIMARY FUNCTION:Plans, schedules, coordinate and/or monitor the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Works as a liaison between all functional areas as well as the customer.______________________________________________________________________________________ JOB DESCRIPTION:Works from customer forecast to establish a master schedule and to set and change production schedules accordingly. Negotiate customer orders based on component availability, machine capacity, and purchasing agrrements. Calculates and enters, via computer, any special or unusual production requirements to support the sales forecast. Key punches OES and OEM monthly sales orders not received by EDI, such as DNEU, DSCA, Sumitomo, DMMI, etc. Provides 1 Weekly Plan & 3 Month Plan on a weekly basis. Coordinates/monitors production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Works with management and engineering to understand and advise on short term / long term capacities to minimize past due orders and unneeded capital investments.Follows the flow of material from planned/production orders through sales order shipment to customers.Ensures all products are shipped on schedule.Has detailed contact with external as well as internal customers. Is main company contact between TBDN and all Sales Groups (DIAM, DNCN, etc.). Resolves problems, questions, etc. when customer issues occur. Primary after hour contact for external customer and Sales Groups. Collects and summarizes data for reporting to management. Works on problems/projects of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.Performs cycle counts or visual management of finished goods inventory. Performs inventory adjustments for miscellaneous shipments. Responsibility for inventory levels related to specific product lines and/or assigned project work. Assist in problem-solving and executing appropriate countermeasures for deviations from planned inventory levels. May provide work leadership to others in Production Control. Works as a back-up in many positions such as: production & scrap entries, manufacturing orders, updating ITEX & ITLN, creation of BOMs. Print and distribute schedule vs. actual report (daily and monthly). Printed kanbans-tear down-sort-verify-distributeReturnable kanbans-count-distribute TLS export order entry Communicates with DIAM Sales Group (TLS Export). Work closely with Production Supervisors (Production & Scrap Reports). Performs other tasks incidental to the job as required. JOB KNOWLEDGE:Must have a thorough knowledge of scheduling procedures and customer requirements. Requires the ability to plan, coordinate and expedite production based on material availability and manufacturing capacity. Must be familiar with company products, terminology and manufacturing procedures. Requires clerical skills and must know specified computer programs in order to maintain current, accurate, resource data. EXPERIENCE & JOB TRAINING:Nine to twelve months in the position is required to become proficient in most phases of the job. SCHOOLING OR EQUIVALENT:Completion of high school with a concentration in math and up to two years prior work experience in the production or planning areas would be necessary to prepare for this position. CONTACT WITH OTHERS:Interacts frequently with various materials, production and engineering personnel in the exchange of information. Has external contact with customers. Tact and courtesy are required to maintain acceptable employee relations. CONFIDENTIAL DATA:Has access to production data which would not be considered confidential in nature. Also product cost and sales, which would require discretion to protect company interests. RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY:Most errors are detected during proofing or editing procedures. Undetected errors could result in much confusion, production delays, improper inventories or work stoppage and affect company revenues. MENTAL/VISUAL/PHYSICAL EFFORT:The level of concentration varies with duties. Close attention to detail is required while planning, using computer and making decisions. Subject to frequent interruptions requiring varied responses. Specifically defined physical aspects and requirements of the job are documented in the official report of minimum Physical Safety Requirements study. RESOURCEFULNESS & INITIATIVE:Follows established production planning procedures and guidelines with minimum supervision. A considerable amount of judgment, problem solving and planning skills are required. Must be able to adapt to constantly changing circumstances and situations, taking corrective action to achieve goals and objectives. ENVIRONMENT:Works in a normal plant environment.
