Job Title: Linux Administrator / Service Delivery Lead

Mandatory Technical Skills:
Primary skill in Linux System Administration (Red Hat) & secondary skill in at least one more flavor - HP-UX/Solaris.
Must have managed hosts in Oracle DB/Apps environment.
High level of skill with most operating system commands/utilities & familiarity with basic system administration and also understanding of larger system management tools.
Understanding of a server-based operating system is a must; for example, kernel configurations, understands system designs and hardware configurations.
Good trouble shooting knowledge - OS and Hardware. Quickly solve frequent system problems with little/no help. Can solve some complex and inter-system problems without help; others with some help.
Knowledge of EMC & NetApp storage products/tools would be preferred.
Knowledge in LVM, VxVM, DNS, DHCP, NFS/Automount clustering techologies (HP ServiceGuard, RedHat cluster, VCS) & Virtualization technologies is desirable.
Good system performance monitoring capabilities.
Ability to understand IO layout intricacies and enterprise storage management process.
Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Tk, Perl, shell).
Ability to repair, reconfigure and install servers/clusters.
Ability to work with users to detail service delivery requirements and system functionality.
Ability to work closely with DBAs, client teams and management ensuring that systems are managed per established service level agreements.
Ability to manage cases to resolution, refresh/copy databases and manage/coordinate data backup.
Does not receive instruction on routine work, moderate to minimal supervisory input on complex new assignments.
Takes some direction from more senior level System Administrators and direct supervisor, but does not receive instruction on routine work.
Moderate to minimal supervisory input on complex new assignments.
Interaction with client teams and some vendors.
Strong inter-personal & communication (written and verbal) skills.
Exercises judgment within defined standards and consults with SMEs & management.
Works under the general supervision of a Project lead/manager.
