POSITION SUMMARY:
This role performs general maintenance and manual labor duties in a materials recycling facility (MRF), maintenance shop, container shop or landfill environment. Work may include but is not limited to processing, sorting or disposing of materials; washing and cleaning equipment and facilities; fueling vehicles; performing labor-oriented maintenance tasks; and performing general yard work, painting and janitorial work.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.
May sort / segregate recoverable materials (i.e., aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from waste so that outbound recycling materials are acceptable for sale to various brokers or mills. Deposits recoverable materials into appropriate chute.
Maintains cleanliness of the respective facility, which may include a MRF, landfill, container shop or maintenance shop. This may include picking up and removing perimeter debris along fences from a landfill.
Performs general maintenance and shop duties that may include fueling vehicles, caring for equipment, replacing and repairing tires, and washing equipment.
May perform general labor duties including yard work, painting and janitorial work.
Assists others as necessary with equipment, machinery, and trucks.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION: Required:
Valid driver’s license and/or fork truck certification if required for job duties
Preferred:
Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification
No prohibition toward obtaining a CDL

Shop environment including, but not limited to, machines, tools, moving objects and recoverable materials.
Exposure to waste.
May be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
The ability to maintain balance on slippery surface.
Climb into and out of trucks as job requires
