This role is responsible for setting and maintaining the hardware and software direction for the Desktop and laptop computing environment. This includes physical device evaluation and selection along with software evaluation, selection, and approval. It also includes integration with messaging, collaboration tools, other infrastructure applications, business applications, and the enterprise server infrastructure. This person works primarily with counterparts from an outsourced service provider, internal IT technical architects specializing in other areas, information services project teams, and end users. The goal is to develop, implement, and maintain a cost effective desktop and mobile computing infrastructure that meets IT and Business objectives for today and into the future. This role will be key to maintaining the appropriate balance between mobility, convenience, functionality, supportability, and security for EUS.

Area of Responsibilities:

Lead development of end-state architecture and associated roadmaps for all elements of the end user computing environment, ensuring consistency for specified requirements with both external and internal customers.
· Execute, champion, and comply with overall Enterprise Architecture processes, standards, templates and components to ensure alignment between infrastructure, general IT, and business architectures.
· Govern and assist an outsourcing partner with capabilities in imaging, patching, software packaging and distribution, and security compliance and protection for physical devices and data, Citrix applications, and Virtual Desktop infrastructures.
· Provide technical perspectives to other architecture functions to ensure that solutions effectively leverage infrastructure capabilities and services and integrate with them.
· Enable and drive technical integrity of projects through participation in solution design and enterprise architecture governance processes.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging and projected future technology trends and developments to investigate, plan, and implement specific technologies, products, methods and techniques for the benefit of the business and IT department.
Preferred Qualifications
Education Level and/or Experience:
* BS Degree in computer related discipline
*6-8 years’ experience in information technology
Skills and/or Knowledge:
· Strong background with:
o Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Terminal Services.
o Creating/managing/deploying desktop and laptop computer images.
o Active Directory/Group Policy
· Solid understanding of risk and security practices, including antivirus, locked down computer images, and system patching.
· Experienced in driving work through third parties such as IT outsourcers.
· Experienced with systems management and software deployment tools such as SCCM/LanSweeper/WSUS.
· Strong communication and documentation skills required to deliver strategies and uses of infrastructure to division leadership.
· Skilled and experienced at interacting with senior IT executives.
· Broad skills and knowledge around IT methods, practices, and processes.
· Mobile Device Management tool familiarity such as MobilIron/Afaria a plus.
