Acts as the assistant to the Resident Maintenance Engineer in planning, organizing and directing foreman and/or crews in maintenance repair projects while implementing Department Policies. Prepares and schedules on priority basis, routes for recurring maintenance inspection and monitors compliance with established schedules. Inspects crews to ensure proper traffic control is implemented on job sites and makes adjustments to comply with uniform traffic manual. Inspects rest areas in Calhoun County. Enters all HMMS daily reports and special reports. Assists in reviewing evaluations of employees and assist foremen with personnel matters. Interviews, hires and provides orientation for all new hires. Assist in interviews and promotions within the unit. Communicates with local officials, administrators and general public on field complaints. Prepares written correspondence related to maintenance activities. Performs other related duties as required by Resident Maintenance Engineer. Assist during snow/ice and debris removal during inclement weather coordinating personnel, equipment and materials.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in engineering and two (2) years of entry-level engineering work experience; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and four (4) years of entry-level engineering work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license.
