Instructional Designers develop training materials and determine learning objectives and goals for a specific curriculum or identified need. They partner with stakeholders and internal clients to determine needs, gather data, analyze audiences, design data collection instruments, create learning experiences and select delivery methods that meet the determined objectives and goals.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the standard ADDIE methodology for instructional design.
  • Use basic project management principles to ensure comprehensive execution of training design project.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the wireless retail industry including performance metrics.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, conduct and analyze surveys, tests, interviews, focus groups, observation procedures, sampling techniques, and reports to determine training needs.

Identify and interview subject matter experts and target audiences to determine performance gap and scope.

Recommend solution that takes into account cost- benefit analysis, organizational direction, scope, non-training alternatives and capacity.

Prepare a comprehensive training and implementation plan to meet the learning need.

Select the appropriate training strategy or strategies and delivery methods based on audience, business channel, capacity, budget and learning need.

Develop materials (e.g. objectives, instructor and participant materials, video scripts, storyboards, e-learning, job aids, reinforcement materials, train the trainer materials).

Manage content review process, validating learning objective and course effectiveness.

Designs presentation, application and feedback for the course.

Designs e-learning course and materials as appropriate.

Prepare drafts for review and approval, validate appropriateness of requested changes and incorporate changes as needed into materials.

Work with vendors and contractors as needed to develop assessments, content, etc..

Coordinate implementation of newly developed curriculum with internal customers, training delivery partners and management.

Manages and supports logistics of training implementation plan.

Execute the training evaluation plan.

Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to take initiative, proactive without waiting for direction. Ability to work independently with limited guidance.

Ability to work within a collaborative environment, multi-task, and sense of urgency to work within aggressive timeframes.

Strong interpersonal and team work skills.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail and focus on quality.

Ability to manage, scope time and budget, and negotiating with key stakeholders.

Strong project management and planning skills: Ability to lead a project with limited guidance and lead a small project team.

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business, Communication or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
