Lead strategic sourcing efforts for Packaging within procurement.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, logistics and procurement to develop
and execute a strategic sourcing strategy.
Lead/manage activities that need to be coordinated across xpedx
locations/groups/regions to optimize procurement solutions.
Communication and implementation of Packaging sourcing strategy and
programs across xpedx.
Responsible for engagement with suppliers in terms of purchasing and
acquisition of products critical to Packaging. Develop consolidation
strategies and provide support for growth strategies with suppliers.
Interact with xpedx managers, addressing issues as they relate to
Establish and lead sourcing engagement teams with representatives as
appropriate from marketing, sales, logistics and procurement.
Establish sourcing engagement business requirements, including
applicable metrics. Metrics including, but not limited to analyses in
following areas: spend, supply market, inventory, total cost of
ownership, customer sales, etc.
Lead identification and qualification of sources of supply, including
diversity supplier and import sourcing.
Lead RFI and RFP processes.
Develop and execute collaborative negotiation strategy. Must have
ability to negotiate key contracts with suppliers.
Lead supplier contract process, contract administration and supplier
Understand and communicate product market information, including supply
and market changes, historical pricing, supply demand, etc.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams is essential. Position will need
to challenge the status quo to identify improvements while working
closely (and effectively) with internal customers and suppliers. Will
require exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Provide leadership in procurement process as opportunities for
improvement are identified.
Complete and maintain Packaging specific strategic sourcing plan.
Must have prior experience in sourcing in Packaging.
Must have strong leadership and management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Must have ability to deal with high level of responsibility and
sometimes stressful workload.
APICS/ISM certification preferred.
