This position is responsible for working closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organizations architectural standards. Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations. Has experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies. Position requires on-call availability for 24-hour period according to business needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience;
2) 3 years of programming/systems analysis experience;
3) Requires knowledge and experience in own function; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills;
4) Builds own knowledge of HCSC, business processes and customers;
5) Solves a range of problems;
6) Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures;
7) Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
1) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience;
2) 3 years of mainframe COBOL orientated programming / systems analysis experience;
3) Experience with all phases of a SDLC;
4) Experience coding in COBOL, CICS;
5) Experience with VSAM;
6) Experience with DB2;
7) Requires knowledge and experience in software development lifecycle;
8) Builds own knowledge business processes through individual performance and team goals;
9) Experience in the Health Care Industry;
10) Knowledge of Blue Chip and the Enterprise Front End;
11) Solves a range of problems with innovative thought;
12) Career driven and highly motivated.
