The Illustrator produces basic illustrations, diagrams and schematics for technical publications using established configuration management systems to store and retrieve illustrations. Produces changes in accordance to engineering change order instructions. Modify or Redraw a variety of Technical Illustrations in a variety of digital formats. Scan paper documents and extract images from digital files. Add/delete/change data per work instructions and/or edited markups. Must be able to work in a Team Enviroment and meet assigned production goals. The Illustrator determines the best fit technique to produce the desired production outcome and conforms with all customer reproduction requirements. The Illustrator renders the required illustration for inclusion into the customers documents. Discusses illustration at various stages of completion and makes changes as necessary.
Prepare Images for Layout
Render illustrations and technical drawings of manufactured products, working from customer provided sketches, blueprints, or reference materials
Develops graphic content to include illustrations and graphical user interface designs
Ensures that deliverables meet internal and external customer technical requirements for utility and file formats
Prepares all types of illustrations in accordance with Military specifications and customer and/or contract requirements
Generates final illustrations and/or technical drawings using computer graphic software
Establish and maintain configuration control of illustrations
Other duties as assigned
Experience - Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic illustration concepts (perspective, etc.) and be able to use them within an electronic environment. Basic computer experience and knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe InDesign is required. Knowledge of ISODRAW is preferred.
Other – U.S. Citizenship required.
Formal Education - High School Diploma; AA degree desirable.
