We are seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated Mechanical Commissioning Engineers for our office in Charlotte.

The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer will work with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client personnel to design, test, make operational, optimize and validate mechanical systems in multiple 24x7 mission critical electrical plants, pharmaceutical, healthcare, power generation or similar environments.

Syska Hennessy Group is technology centric and the staff is afforded the latest and greatest hardware and software with which to do their job as efficiently as possible without limitations.

This position requires frequent travel to sites throughout the US and provides the opportunity to interface directly with client personnel at state of the art mission critical facilities.

This dynamic position will have the following responsibilities:

Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.

Write and administer Commissioning Plans, consistent with PECI format.

Develop and administer functional testing of large HVAC systems

Develop and administer functional testing of DDC/PLC Control Systems and Sequences

System and equipment troubleshooting

Proactive problem identification and resolution

Observing startup activities / management of vendors

Test data collection and presentation - Commissioning and other report contribution / development

Daily interaction with management team

Oversight of engineers on project reporting to them

Oversight of project financials and interoffice/client reporting structure

The ideal candidate will have the following background:
A minimum of 7 years field experience in hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting of large HVAC systems

Large cooling plant design and testing experience

BSME degree preferred but will substitute significant years of experience for exceptional candidates. This experience would include commissioning or designing of large HVAC systems for industrial, datacenter, pharmaceutical processes or laboratory clean rooms.

LEED commissioning experience a plus - Experience with ASHRAE and/or PECI Cx and RETRO-Cx procedures and protocols a plus.

Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
