The data from the Fitbit Tracker is wirelessly uploaded to our web site, where users can view and interact with their data and share with othersWe are looking for an experienced manufacturing engineer to drive all aspects of the manufacturing lifecycle of our products from new product introduction through volume production and the diversity of associated activities working within small but high skilled team . This person will also be responsible for transferring the product from design, managing manufacturing product and process definition (for both CM ’s and supply base) and ensuring that Fitbit products meets goals for cost, schedule, manufacturability and lifecycle.Specific responsibilities include: Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors and design to ensure DFM and KPI ’s are achievedImproves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing, planning and improving work flow, space requirements, equipment, staffing.
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.Maintains product and process data for total Life cycle product data management.Drive manufacturability and toolingDevelop Qualification Test plans for product, process, tooling and equipmentContribute to the evolution of the Fitbit Design process including driving mechanical design validation processesKey metricsCost Manufacturability Design Function Time to marketLife cycle Requirements: BS in Mechanical/production Engineering related disciple or demonstrated equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing consumer oriented products with Asia based supply chainsAbility to travel ~30% of time Bonus would be resident in/proximity to country of manufacture Start up and volume ramp experience in consumer electronicsTeam oriented, but effective individual contributor driver and effective communicatorProficient with PLM tools such as Arena Solutions Proficient in 2D/3D MCAD.
