Lending Club is seeking a veteran Linux systems administrator to join a small IT Ops team supporting the 24x7 availability of our production systems, networks and databases. You are an exceptional Linux (Red Hat) administrator who can also hold your own in network, storage and database administration. You are passionate about improving IT Operations efficiency and effectiveness through automating repetitive tasks, monitoring everything and creating documentation. Ensure the LendingClub service is available 24x7.

Develop and support automated builds and configuration management using Puppet.

Work with the database team to design and deploy highly available, performant and secure database clusters.

Work with release team to achieve zero-downtime product releases.

Work closely with Infosec to ensure secure system, network and database implementation; integrate security event monitoring and alerting to corporate SIEM systems

Ensure all servers, devices, apps and third-parties are monitored with appropriate alerting. Create dashboards for internal consumers.

Develop and create system capacity plans.

Consider and recommend new technology needs and solutions for anticipated needs of business.


Track record of leveraging contemporary tools and techniques to automate infrastructure provisioning, management and monitoring.

Expert in Linux/Unix administration, specifically Redhat and its derivatives.

Strong working knowledge of system/network security and related technologies.

Expert in virtualization technologies, specifically VMWare.

Fluent in networking device configuration and management, especially Cisco products.

Proven ability to prioritize, organize and deliver on commitments.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Able to quickly become expert with new technologies and techniques.

Red Hat and/or Linux certifications.


BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.

10+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration and network administration.

Demonstrable competence in programming and shell scripting. Experience with Ruby, Java, Perl and/or Python desirable.
