As an intern at Liberty Mutual, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of business critical assignments that will challenge you to apply knowledge learned in school while gaining valuable work experience. You will learn about our business operations through exposure to a specific functional area and to senior management in formal and informal settings. You will also focus on developing the skills necessary for success by assisting professionals with day-to-day job assignments and by participating in project work. Our internships are designed to expose students to job opportunities available at Liberty Mutual on a full-time basis upon graduation.
Premium Audit intern
in Commercial Insurance, you will be exposed to a career discipline that ensures the integrity of premium development. Assignments will afford opportunities to learn the field auditor role, inside auditor role, and customer service & administration role, as well as project work involving operational analysis.
Learn the field/inside auditing role through classroom training, job shadowing, and working directly with the manager. Conduct financial analysis directly related to the auditor role.
In partnership with auditing, communicate findings through detailed formal reports supported by audit work papers.
Perform operational analysis on key department measures such as workload, productivity, efficiency and quality.
Perform statistical analysis on region's operational results to assess comparative performance and develop management information reports.
Develop understanding of links between operational information and financial results.
Hone communication and critical thinking skills through development and preparation of reports and investigative analysis.
Develop expertise in Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel, as well as specific business applications.
Points of Interaction
Report directly to Audit Manager and indirectly to Region Manager.
Work with Distribution and Underwriting as well as Premium Audit Services' staff.
Working towards a bachelor's degree (graduating in 2014 or 2015)
Possess a minimum 3.0 GPA. Additional requirements may apply.
Preferred majors include: Business, Accounting, Finance, etc.
