Position Summary :
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information for an organization.
  • Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations.
  • Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.
  • Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management.
  • Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Leads and directs the work of others.

Financial Analyst Job Purpose: Reports financial status by preparing and analyzing financial plans, forecasts, and reports. Provide support to business, through information analyses (e.g. current processes, actual performance vs. budget and prior year, budget, etc.), preparation of operational data/analyses for publication to various constituents throughout company (Management, Sales, Product Management, Operations, etc.) who rely on/benefit from the information to make informed business decisions.

Financial Analyst Job Duties:

· Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from plan.

· Determines financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results.

· Improves financial status by analyzing results and variances; identifying trends; recommending actions. Creates financial decision support for Financial Planning & Analysis.

· Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.

· Increases productivity by developing automated applications; eliminating duplications; coordinating information requirements.

· Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.

· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

· Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Including but not limited to revenue, margin, expense analysis and unit costing.

· Primary responsibilities will include assisting Financial Planning & Analysis team in the Monthly Operations Review, identification of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements, annual budget process, periodic forecasting, and periodic analysis of operations performance.

· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.

· Collaborate with business partners to deliver accurate and timely results, including relevant variance explanations.
Ability to research, retrieve and organize data to prepare reports and financial documentation; analyze and audit data to detect, and correct errors; set up and maintain spreadsheets and databases; accurately perform complex mathematical computations; organize and maintain accounting records.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Liaison between third party vendors, managed care, information technology, field operations and finance departments to ensure proper efficiencies and accurate revenue, expense and cash reporting.

· Coordinates all accounts payable activities for specific product line.

· Responsible for most complex activities associated with general ledger, financial reports, and budget analysis for product line.

· Produces timely, accurate and reliable financial information, including preparation of P&L, balance sheets, and group consolidations.

· Will post accruals/prepayments, reconcile intercompany accounts, P&L and balance sheet accounts, manage & control the fixed asset register, capital expenditure controls & reporting, produce monthly consolidation reporting pack, produce statutory accounts, compute corporate tax (in conjunction with tax function) and/or analyze cost center reporting.

· Will prepare budgets and forecasts for revenue and cash flows.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4 or more years experience required
  • Strong Excel and financial management software skills are essential
Desired:
  • Prefer degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CMA or CFA preferred
Work Traits:
