The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time faculty, tenured or tenure-track appointment in Theriogenology in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Applications for a tenure-track position will be accepted at the level of an Assistant Professor or a more experienced applicant at an Associate or Full Professor level.

The successful candidate will enhance the national prominence of the Theriogenology activities at Iowa State University. A minimum of 50% effort will be dedicated to professional practice and clinical instruction in the Veterinary Medical Center with the remaining time used for the development of a creative program of scholarship, didactic and laboratory teaching, academic service, and outreach activities.

Required Qualifications

DVM or equivalent degree and board eligibility/certification by the American College of Theriogenologists.

Must be eligible to obtain a valid veterinary license from the Iowa Board of Veterinary Medicine allowing for medical practice in the teaching hospital.

Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level must have documented evidence of scholarship, teaching, and clinical service appropriate for the professional title.

Preferred Qualifications

An advanced degree is highly desirable but is not required.

Demonstrated potential to be in a position of national prominence in Theriogenology and be a national opinion leader in animal reproductive activities. Emphasis will be on equine species reproduction as a primary obligation.

Evidence of primary expertise in equine reproduction with a secondary interest in companion animal reproduction and can integrate with other Theriogenology activities of clinical service.

Experience in modern veterinary Theriogenology practices and standards of care are important for clinical service and teaching activities.

A documented record of scholarship through manuscript publication/preparation, preparation/success in granting activity, and national scholarly, clinical, or educational presentations.

Unique clinical focus that will enhance medical service activities in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
