I am seeking a postdoctoral scholar to gather and synthesize information on the relationship between site-specific models used for environmental flows (e.g., PHABSIM, 2-D models) and larger watershed models (e.g., SWAT). This is a one-year position, beginning on or after 1 July 2012. Possibility of extension of the position beyond a year depends on funding. PhD in a relevant subject area (e.g., fisheries, hydrology) should be completed prior to start date.
The ideal applicant will have expertise in ecology with an understanding of the myriad of models used for ecology-flow relations at multiple spatial scales. The postdoc will (1) synthesize the existing literature on methods for determining environmental flow requirements for fishes, (2) use existing data to model fish population success by linking watershed and reach-scale models, and (3) interact with professionals to determine how linking models across scales would be used to best address management questions. The postdoc will work with faculty and students at Oklahoma State University, the International Centre for Ecohydraulics Research, and the newly established South Central Climate Science Center at the University of Oklahoma. The position is located in Stillwater, OK.
