Summary of Duties
Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (CWOCN) provides expert
level clinical consultation, teaching, and direct care of complex
patient problems in the specialty areas of wounds, fistulas,
ostomies, continence, and related skin problems in the inpatient,
outpatient, and home health settings. Performs patient
assessment and clinical management or treatment recommendations for
complex patient care problems. Provides staff and patient,
caregiver education in the specialty areas. Serves as the
corporate resource for specialty area product selection,
policy/procedure and protocol development, and program
